Vapp Offering VoIP Conference Calling

Vapp is offering now it’s high speed internet based conference calling through its VoIP infrastructure compatible with Skype and regular phones. It allows for up to 500 conference call users to communicate simultaneously.

This VoIP communication undertaking is being accomplished together with salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM)

In the words of Ben Lilienthal, the CEO of Vapps: “The flexibility of our VoIP conferencing calling platform will greatly benefit AppExchange users, enabling them to conduct multi-user conference calls from any location worldwide. Our technology, partnered with other AppExchange applications, is the ultimate business collaboration tool for any member of a sales force."

This high speed conference calling is one of over 200 applications created by salesforce.com, its partners and customers. It is also the first multi party audio conferencing service available to Skype users accessing it through any communication network. And it offers full featured, unrestricted conference calling globally.

The teleconferencing is available to Skype users for free. If the VoIP call is made to the regular landlines then regular Skype Out prices apply, except for the US and Canada current Skype promotion going till about the end of this year where the calls even to landline phones are free too.

The basic free teleconferencing includes:
  • play menu of features
  • line mute and unmute
  • info on number of callers on the VoIP line

There is also a premium version of the Skype internet phone conferencing available and it includes , in addition to the above:

  • lock out feature, to stop more people from joining the given conference call
  • unlock feature, to allow again more people to join the given conference call
  • 'lecture mode' meaning muting all participants except oneself
  • and then unmiting of all the participants
